Tips
One reason computers slow down or seem sluggish is the lack of RAM (random access memory). To keep computer cost low the factory sacrifices RAM. If you run Windows XP the minimum RAM that your system should have is 1 Gigabyte (1024 megabytes). Computer users that run Windows Vista should have a minimum of 1.5 – 2 Gigabytes of memory. Running these Operating Systems with less than the list above, will sacrifices speed and performance. To remedy this issue, we at Chill-A-Hz can install more RAM to increase overall computer performance.
Another reason computers run slow is the added software the computer manufacturers install on their computers. A lot of this software is never used by the end user (you), and takes valuable system resources to run. These system resources could be better used running programs that you use rather than programs that you rarely use or never use. Computer manufactures receive money from third party software companies to put trial versions of their software on your computer. The best way to eliminate software that you do not need or no longer use is to go to your control panel and click on the “Add or Remove Programs” icon (Windows XP) or “Programs and Features” icon (Windows Vista) and uninstall any software you do not use. It is best to use a search engine like Google.com to find what each program does before you uninstall them. Use caution when uninstalling programs, as they might be important programs to your Operating System. Keeping a clean system is the best step to keep a fast system fast!!
